New partner for the distribution of Acquastop ® products in Japan, the company Kurata Industries Co. Ltd. based in Fukuoka , a city located on the island of Kyushu.
We are proud to have concluded an important agreement that will allow the company to expand its market in Japan through collaboration with a company that boasts 100 years of history, Kurata Industries Co. Ltd.
Kurata Industries was founded in 1922, the company’s principal activities are the sale, installation, maintenance and overhaul of pumps for government, municipal and related facilities water infrastructure. It also performs engineering, construction, design and quality control functions.
The company headquarters is located in Fukuoka , the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture, located on the northern coast of the island of Kyushu. The city stretches along the shores of Hakata Bay and has been a center of international trade since ancient times. The area has long been considered the gateway to Japan, as it is the closest point to the Asian continent.
Fukuoka is the most populous city on the island, with a population of 2.5 million people and represents the economic center of the Kyushu region, with an economy mainly focused on the service sector. It is also the Japanese city with the largest number of startups and home to numerous small businesses that play a supporting role in the logistics, information technology and high-tech manufacturing sectors.
Due to global warming, Japan has also found itself subjected to an abnormal climate which has caused unprecedented floods, phenomena which are repeated frequently and on an ever-increasing scale and which also sees the nature of the soil and urbanization as responsible. In recent years, damage to property and activities has increased and the situation may worsen in the future.
In January 2022 Kurata Industries created the “Solutions Business Department” with the aim of developing new business opportunities in the water segment, particularly in flood prevention, aiming to introduce new technologies and unique products to Japan.
The company has carefully evaluated many products seeking originality, quality and effectiveness and has considered the Acquastop ® barriers to be products with excellent potential thanks to distinctive characteristics such as the quality of the materials, technical construction, ease of use and aesthetics.
